Aziza takes a break from Dendura - public release
Dear friends and fans,
Some of you have already emailed me about my recent interview in Associated Content about Dendura and I feel I need to explain more to you, my fans and friends. Dendura has been at a stand still with our album on Killzone Records produced by Neil Kernon. Due to the economy, Killzone, like many other record labels, simply doesn't have the funds to complete our album; therefore, we are not able finish the album within a reasonable time. We all have the determination to complete this album, but realistically it may be up to a few years. In the mean time, we are working on a self produced album more.

Since realizing the Neil Kernon album will take longer than any of us anticipated, I have decided that I need to focus on other singing opportunities and projects. With that said, I am taking a break from Dendura for a while. I am not quitting the band, but I have to keep on a path that is healthy and positive for me. For the benefit of all involved, I need to take a step away and rejuvenate and evolve into singing opportunities.

This fall I will be performing my last show or two with Dendura before I go on break and will be recording our self produced album, as well. I have told the band that if they decided to still perform during my hiatus, they have my blessing hiring a session singer as long as I had a hand in the selection process.

On a positive note, I have joined the Grand Rapids Symphony Chorus and will be performing 4 shows with them this year including the music to "The Lord of the Rings,” and have also started a middle eastern fusion band with Al-Asdeka members (in essence, I joined Al-Asdeka) at www.azizaworld.com; www.myspace.com/azizaworld. In addition, I am a classical singer vocal student in college. I also be doing some recording work for other bands and projects.

I hope you all understand and will continue to support Dendura and the projects I am involved in. We will keep you posted on our album’s release, show information, and other news as it comes in.

Thank you,
Aziza

Personal message from Aziza of Dendura regarding Neil Kernon album "A Divine World":
Dear Dendurians,
I wanted to give you a thorough update on the happenings of Dendura. I'm sure you are all wondering when we are finishing our album w/ Grammy producer Neil Kernon named "A Divine World" and when we are getting back out to the stage in support of it. Here is the low down. First, as you know, the economy is very bad!!!!! And everyone here in Dendura, has felt that effect so we had to put Neil's album on hold for financial reasons.
We have done all we can at this point. Killzone Records is also feeling the financial pinch and does not have the finances to help us finish the album.
We wouldn't go this far without finishing it but we are just putting it on hold until we have a solid plan to get it complete. Now in the meantime, we will be putting out another self produced album that Killzone Records will be picking up instead of "A Divine World" to fulfill our 1 album deal on Killzone. We are writing new material for this album (album B we will call it) and will let you know when we have it recorded. We are not going to just throw something out there so please be patient while we work on album B. We also will be coming back out to do shows this summer and performing some of these new songs we have written. We thank you all for your patience and support. Watch our new website for exciting news going on with Dendura at www.dendura.com and thank you for your thoughts and concerns.
We will see you soon!!!!
